ART: Open Call for Visual Artwork Submissions

We've been thinking about: pictures you take, who's the best dressed, fandom, domestic secrets, gay realism, being homesick, open books, fantastic creatures, tear-free detangler, queer people making art about non-queer issues, rock shows, smart alecs, and the strange truth.   Show us what you've done.  

The festival's curatorial committee is looking for sculpture, drawings, prints, photographs, fiber arts, installation, etc, to be shown in a variety of spaces in downtown Olympia.   Submissions should be sent digitally as high-resolution .jpgs to art@homoagogo.com .   Send 3 representative images of the work you would like to be included.   Please title each image with the artist's last name and serial image number (example: Lestopher1) and include a separate text-only (Word or .PDF) image index with image numbers, titles, dimensions, production dates, and materials for each piece.   Include link to artist's website, if available.   If you wish to sell your work include a price or "NFS" (not for sale) on this document.   If you have any questions or problems with the submission format, just contact us at the above email. The submissions deadline is May 26 th , and we will notify our selections by June 20 th .   The festival takes place August 1-6.   Packing and shipping artwork will be the responsibility of the individual artists.   Artwork must arrive framed and/or ready for hanging.

CRAFT FAIR: CALLING ALL CRAFTERS!!!

Join us for the HAGG '06 craft fair where there‚s there is NO FEE for a
table. As we did with the 2004 festival, the craft fair will work on a
sliding scale of 15 - 20% return to HAGG based on your sales allowing us
to have no upfront fee for participation. However you must sign up for a
table ahead of time, those that show up day of asking for a table will
have to wait to set up until all reserved tables have been claimed (if any
are available.) So, all you shirt screeners, tire tube strap-on makers,
purse punchers, even hair cutters and activist groups, and more contact me
so we can save you a table. In addition this year, I encourage opening
bands who have lots of merch to contact me for a table as the HAGG store
will only feature HomoAGoGo and Headliner items. If you are involved in
an action group that would like a table, please contact me with your
group's details, as these tables will be free we have a limited number and
none will be available day of. Finally, we will be continuing on with the
skill share segment, so please bring materials to teach your craft to
other queers from all over the world.

All HAGG craft fair participants may feature their items in the fashion
show on Friday (show is 3:30-5pm), if you have individual items you
would like used in someone's part of the show please contact me at
craftfair@homoagogo.com. To be a part of the fashion show by doing a
whole show please contact missus adams at fashionshow@homoagogo.com

The craft fair is Saturday, August 5th from noon - 6pm you must be there
or have someone you've selected to staff your table in order to participate.

FASHION SHOW

Designers, Costumers, Seamsters!!

      The HomoAGogo Fashion Show is seeking people to participate in the 2006 show tentatively titled 2006: A Space Gaydessey: To Uranus and Beyond!!  It is going to be a spectacle like no other ever before seen by human eyes.  Designers will select a Planet or other heavenly body and create work around that theme.  
       Ten to twelve designers will be selected.  Designers will be responsible for developing a concept, making the clothing, selecting a background image or film, and a song for a five minute segment.  There will be pools of local models/dancers/performers to use and a choreographer to assist with movement/dance, if needed.  Please send images of previous work, questions, and your ideas to missusadams@gmail.com Designers can sell their work at the Craft Fair the following day and will receive a one-day pass to the festival for their efforts. The fashion show is on Friday the 4th at 4pm, and with your help, will be Epic.
