Throughout
the festival look for: Homo Visual Art Takes over Capitol
City!!!
It's true.
On virtually every wall you look up at while here at our fair
homofest you'll find the visual art of queers from around the
world. Peruse paintings over penne. Check out screen prints with
your skim latte. Muse on photos with your french fries. That's
right my gay darlings, queer visual art takes over a gajillion
venues in Olympia. Curated by Dana Clark, media includes painting,
photography, sculpture, mixed genre, drawing, illustration, digital
output and many others. So take a gander around the mezzanine
at the Capitol Theater, Ptto's, The Voyeur, the New Moon Cafe,
and other stylish joints for the visionary cornucopia of art you
wanna chew up.
Our featured
artist is the amazing photographer Mariette Pathy Allen. Her work
including stills from our feature film Southern Comfort will keep
you company at Caffe Vita all week. And don't miss her in a Q
& A after the screening of Southern Comfort (Saturday, Aug.
7 1:30-3:30 at the State Theater).
