K'VETSH: AN ALL QUEER, ALL-GENDER OPEN MIC CABARET.

Started 1996 in San Francisco by JAMIE BEN-AZAY, SASH SUNDAY and SARA SEINBERG, K'VETSH is the nation's longest running all queer open mic. Spreading like a friendly gay virus, it now exists in San Francisco (curated and hosted by LYNNE BREEDLOVE and TARA JEPSEN), Pittsburgh (with your hosts and the gayest couple in america PAIGE MCBEE and BETH STEIDLE), and in Boston (with SARA SEINBERG).

This special edition of HOMO-A-FOO-FOO includes the butch mistress of intellectual prowess REBECCA BROWN, author of like a million books, a play and a libretto for the love of pete. In from Seattle just for us, she will easily melt your heart and electrify your cerebellum. Also on your dance card, author of the beautiful Sugarhill, CHERYL COWARD, joins us from Boston to speak of fat Florida heat, racial tensions in New England, and the gifts that arise from murky sites. And to round out the featured artists, AMI MATTISON, a driving force behind Cliterati in Atlanta arrives just in time to blow you away with her transfixing performance and her dynamic noggin, spinning the locations of adoption, regional prejudice, and mixed race existence in a queer body.

And then, homos, there is you!!! The preeminent cause for celebration. Please bring a poem, a song, an interpretive dance, a story, an essay, a slide show, a sermon, or a guided instructional meditation on watercolor. Yes, you are the true star. Everyone gets one piece or five minutes, whichever comes first. In the words of the beautiful TARA JEPSEN, don't hurt people with spoken word. Time your stuff. Less than five.

Hosted by PAIGE MCBEE and SARA SEINBERG
