In the tradition of the great
Olympia music festival comes a four day music and film festival
focusing on the independent and underground music, film, art, and
radical activism of queers. Homo a Gogo borrows it's format from
the music festivals that have had a home in Olympia over the past
11 years: the original Ladyfest, Yoyo a Gogo, and the International
Pop Underground Convention. Similar in spirit to those festivals,
Homo a Gogo creates a national community even specifically featuring
queer artists and activists.
Proceeds from Homo
a Gogo will benefit the Olympia based Gender Variant Health Project
(GVHP). The GVHP is a non-profit organization devoted to health
issues and healthcare needs of those of us who's gender identity
differs from the gender assigned to us based on our biological sex.
the GVHP offers educational programs and forums for healthcare professionals,
as well as, referral services for gender variant individuals. Additional
proceeds will benefit a grant fund for queer artists.
